Independedly from this one Google search is equivalent to about 0.2 grams of CO2, because the it-infrastructure needs loads of electricity for the operation and cooling.
Sure the modern it consume less electricity and produce therfore lower co2emissions, but due to the enormours rise of internet users and internet services it consumes more and more electricity and causes more co2.

The new revolution is green it which means sustainable it with less demand of electricity - beginning with implementation of more efficient microprocessors and chillers.

Geocooling her can cause a significantly deminishing of operation costs by lowering the energy consumption by 90% (free cooling) respectively 50% for active cooling.

Just to give an example about co2-emissions and operation cost of common chillers for a small office house with 600 sqm

consumption of cooling energy per summer day in middle europe: 300 kWh
consumption of electricity: 100 kWh (assuming a Coeffizient Of Productivity COP of 3)
co2-emission: 100 kWh x 580gco2/kWh equals 58.000g co2 per day or 58kg co2 per day (the german "Energiemix" 580 gco2 per kWh)

the same emissions produces a VW Golf TDI on a 480km journey

using geocooling we are able to reduce the co2 emissions to 10 % using the free cooling performance
even when the chiller (ground coupled chiller) has to work on high cooling demand, the co2savings are about 50% of the conventional chiller

we highly recommand to purchase the electricity for the fluidpumps and ground coupled chiller (if needed) only from renewable sources (wind, hydropower) to minimize the co2 emissions. and the good message is that this is often possible for same money
